What Makes A Great Pilates Studio?

Back

The other day a client asked, "What do you think makes a great Pilates studio?" I thought it was a fair and interesting question. Surprisingly, it's a question that I have not been asked in the 10 years that I have been teaching movement.

For me a Pilates studio is great for two reasons: 1) the willingness of the clients to learn and move in new ways 2) instructors that are skilled at teaching Pilates and have a toolbox/variety of approaches that extend beyond Pilates.

I greatly appreciate that you/the client wants to know more about your body, moving well, training mobility with stability, and improving function in life and sport. Your openness and curiosity enables me to help you make connections in your body and to reach your goals.

Rachel, Hannah, Victoria and I are all experienced Pilates instructors; yet, we bring a broader knowledge base and set of skills to the studio. Rachel incorporates blade and taping techniques, the OOV, and her expertise in joint mechanics and replacements in sessions. Hannah shares her knowledge of the body, injury recovery, and supports women's pre and post-natal experience through movement. Victoria utilizes the OOV, shares information on holistic nutrition, and supports movement during and after breast cancer treatment. I incorporate the OOV, CoreAlign, MOTR and Z Health's brain training when working with you. All of us teach with the intention of helping you move well, feel well and live well.

Thank you for spending time with us. Thank you for your willingness to learn and move in new ways. Thank you to Rachel, Hannah, and Victoria for your continued curiosity and commitment to movement. Thank you for making our Pilates studio great.
