Are you CPR and First Aid Trained?

Back

Training in CPR and first aid is a matter of life and death.

Did you know the most crucial time for saving a life is 4 to 10 minutes after an emergency?

By their very nature, emergencies are unexpected. Prepare yourself now by training because you never know when you’ll need to be CPR and first aid trained to save a life — yours, someone you love or the life of someone who others love.

Why Get CPR and First Aid Training?

When you’re trained in CPR and first aid, you are prepared to act when you need a quick response. Here are other reasons for knowing first aid and CPR:

  • CPR, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, can save lives when used on a person having a heart attack or in cardiac rest. Cardiovascular disease-related deaths are on the rise, according to the American Heart Association. Responding immediately with CPR can “double or triple chances of survival.”
  • The skills are easy to learn yet extremely important.
  • Training allows you to build confidence before an emergency requires you to step in.
  • CPR and first aid skills allow people to get the help they need before professional help arrives. Unfortunately, about 40% of people don’t get this immediate help
  • Although many people have received CPR and first aid training in their lives, only 18% are up-to-date on their training. If it’s been a few years or decades since you received your CPR or first aid training, taking another course builds skills and ensures you know the latest medical recommendations for early intervention.
